a pointless debate about souls
So here is a strange question born in the early hours of the morning.
Does a person with Multiple Personality Disorder have multiple souls?

Very funny, Casket.
In all seriousness, I think it depends. If the 'disorder' is so severe that they are basically different people than yes. But if it is just anger, than no.

Re: a pointless debate about souls
Now I consider myself a semi-religious man but even so I am a scientist before I am a Catholic.
This said, I suppose that the argument is saying that every human being has some kind of energy that serves as a link between this world and the next and the question is whether a person who has multiple personalities has more than one soul or whether the personalities share one soul.
In order to answer this, your definition for a soul must be laid down. So what, in your words, is a soul?

That is part of the debate. Two identical twins can have the exact same personality, but they aren't the same. It is the soul which makes them different. They have two different souls.
What is a soul? That I cannot define. Perhaps it is only that part of the brain which says "I am me and you are you." I do not pretend to be highly educated.

Re: a pointless debate about souls
I remember seeing something about Multiple Personality Disorders in an episode of Law & Order or another show similar to it on TV. One with Multiple Personality Disorders could be something the person themselves taught how to do with hard work and time of practice. Though, for other reasons not related to choice, it's hard to say if there is more than one spirit in the person's body that connects with other things considered existing, non-existing and between the two. I'm not really religious, but I have ideals that I choose to see which may or may not be a possibility of "truth" from certain religions such as Shintoism.
